Beatrice W. Bennett
BERLIN — Beatrice W. Bennett, age 88, affectionately known as “Miss Bea,” passed away peacefully on April 5, 2015, at the Berlin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Sept. 11, 1926 in Nanhsuchow, Anhwei, China, the fifth child of missionaries, Henry H. and Irma White. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Reed Bennett, sisters Mariana Hitchner and Eleanor Glaser, and brother Harrison White. She is survived by her five children, Dale Bennett of Arnoldsburg, W.Va.; Patricia Bennett-Forman(Edward Forman) of Poulsbo, Wash.; Dori Wilson (Cliff) of Centennial, Colo.; Martha Bennett of Berlin; and Barbara Redheffer (David) of Ringgold, Ga. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and her brother, Edward White (Becky) of Moorestown, N.J.
Bea grew up in Cape May Court House, N.J., graduating from Middle Township High School in 1944. She joined the Army Nurse Corps and went to Philadelphia for training. There she met US Navy Chief H. Reed Bennett. They were married Nov. 16, 1946, and moved to his home town of Howard, N.Y.
In 1951, Bea and Reed moved their young family to Davie, Fla. A stay-at-home mother of five children, Bea was an active volunteer with the Women’s Club, the Republican Party, the PTA, the American Cancer Society and the American Legion Auxiliary. The Bennetts moved to Berlin in 1965 and lived in both Florida and the Berlin/Ocean Pines area before retiring to Lecanto, Fla. Following Reed’s death in 1986, Bea returned to Berlin. She worked at the Francis Scott Key Hotel until her retirement in 1996. “Miss Bea” was a devoted volunteer in the emergency room at Atlantic General Hospital from 1993 through 2007, putting in over 9,800 hours.
Friends were permitted to call at the Burbage Funeral Home on Thursday, April 9. A memorial service and interment will be at the Memorial Gardens at Beverly Hills, Fla. at a later date. Milton Harding ‘Tim’ Comley, Jr.
OCEAN CITY — Milton Harding “Tim” Comley, Jr. (86), born in Arlington, Va., passed away on March 24, 2015 in Tampa, Fla.
He was a WWII veteran and served in Japan as a proud member of the USAF 339th Fighter Squadron. He worked for the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Co., now Verizon, for 38 years.

Tim was a lifetime member of the Ocean City Volunteer Fire Co. He was also a member of the Atlantic United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 1066, VFW Post 8296, Elks Lodge 2645, Evergreen Lodge #153, Telephone Pioneers, and was a charter member of the Delmarva Irish Club. Tim was an avid golfer, a talented gardener, and most of all a devoted family man.
He is survived by Sara, his wife of 47 years; sister, Marie Anne Williams (Dave) of Arlington, Va.; son, Jeff (Rachel) of Pittsville, Md.; daughter, Shelley Sharp Young (Greg) of Tampa, Fla.; four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father and mother, Milton H. Comley, Sr. and Marie Dauphin Comley, of Arlington, Va.
