American Legion Baseball Returning To Worcester

OCEAN CITY- American Legion Baseball will return to Worcester County for the first time in decades this year with the formation of a new American Legion Synepuxent Post 166 team.

The new American Legion Synepuxent Post 166 team will be the first-ever from Ocean City and the first in Worcester County in over 50 years. The last American Legion baseball program in Worcester was located in Pocomoke five decades ago. The Ocean City Marlins will represent Post 166, marking the first time the local post has sponsored a team. Jack Hyle and Spaz Spaziani will serve as co-chairs for the inaugural program and they have announced Otis Elzy as the manager.

The team is open to players from each of Worcester County’s four high schools age 19 and under. Tryouts are scheduled for next Saturday, March 15 at 2 p.m. at the Northern Worcester County Athletic Complex Field C. For more information, contact Manager Elzy at (443) 783-1458.
