Local Youth Wrestlers Capture State Titles

WEST OCEAN CITY- Young wrestlers from the Eastern Shore Intensive Wrestling Club based in West Ocean City enjoyed a great weekend at the Maryland State Wrestling Association (MSWA) State Championships last weekend with eight placing in their respective divisions including two state champions.

The Eastern Shore Intensive Wrestling Club, under the direction of Coach Keith Tobin and his staff, provides young grapplers in the area with training and mentoring all year around in an effort to provide them with a foundation for future success. Throughout the year, the club’s wrestlers travel all over the Eastern Shore and beyond to compete in various tournaments and state competitions.

Last weekend, the team competed in the MSWA State Championships over two days in Westminster. On Saturday, Noah Reho and Alex Koulikov each won state championships in their age-weight divisions. Also on Saturday, James Parana finished fourth in his class and Nico D’Amico finished fifth.

Back in action on Sunday, the ESIWC team continued its regular visits to the podium. Peter Snyder finished second in his age-weight class, Jagger Clapsadle brought home a third, Michael Daugherty finished fifth and Parker Intrieri finished sixth.
