Decatur Boys End Five-Game Skid

BERLIN- Decatur’s boys’ varsity basketball team got by host Mardela, 71-59, on Tuesday to halt a five-game skid that dated back prior to the holiday break.

The young Seahawks have been competitive throughout the season, but have struggled to a 4-6 record. After winning its first two games, Decatur lost five straight regular season games and the skid reached seven if two losses during the Governor’s Challenge were included.

However, the Seahawks ended the win drought with the 71-59 win over Mardela on the road on Tuesday. Keve Aluma led Decatur with 15 points.

For the Seahawks, it was only the fourth win of the season. Decatur also beat Mardela at home back on December 9 in just the second game of the season. The Seahawks played WiHi on Thursday in a game played too late to be included in this edition, and will face Delaware power Indian River on the road on Saturday.
