Nancy Jean Holtzman

BERLIN — On Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, Nancy Jean Holtzman of Berlin passed away. She was 77 years old.

Preceding her in death was her husband of 55 years, Robert Martin Holtzman, in September of 2013. Her daughter, Sherry Sue, passed away in infancy.

She is survived by her son, local business owner Bob Holtzman (Truckin’ America/Window Tint & More) and his wife, Susan Holtzman, and their children, Katherine Begor, Esquire of Charlotte, N.C. and Jacob Begor of Delray Beach, Fla. She is also survived by her sisters, Marj Dudek, Sue Rerko and their families.

Nancy will be interred in Johnstown, Pa. with her daughter, Sherry Sue. Mass will be held in Johnstown at that time.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to the Berlin Nursing And Rehab Center at 9715 Healthway Drive, Berlin, Md. 21811.

Sylwester Waclaw Dabrowski

OCEAN CITY — Sylwester Waclaw Dabrowski, age 53, of Ocean City and formerly of Brooklyn, N.Y., died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015 at home.

He was born in Warsaw, Poland and was the son of Tadeusz and Elizabeth (Pawlicka) Dabrowski.

He had been a chef at Harpoon Hanna’s in Fenwick Island. He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Ocean City.

He is survived by his wife, Malgorzata Dabrowski of Ocean City; a brother, Artur W. Dabrowski; and a sister, Mariola Kokora.

A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, Jan. 17 at Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville. Friends may call an hour before the service.

Evelyn Celeste Parsons

OCEAN CITY — Evelyn Celeste Parsons, age 90, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.

Born in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Leslie Pennewell and Lillie May Miller.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Howard Franklin Parsons, Jr., and daughters, Lillian Azbell of Ocean City, and Joan Taylor of Tyaskin, Md. There are several grand and great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and long standing friends that she leaves behind. She is preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy, Lillian, and Ruth, and her two brothers, Elmer and Vernon.

Mrs. Parsons helped build, and operate a very successful plumbing and mechanical company for over 30 years with her husband, Howard. She was a member of Atlantic United Methodist Church and had been a member of their Martha Circle. She had attended Bethany United Methodist Church near Berlin.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Burbage Funeral home in Berlin. Rev. Connie Paulson will officiate. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
