OCEAN CITY- The Bull Assassins captured the 2014 Ocean City Recreation and Parks Department Fall Flag Football League championship in impressive fashion last week, beating Kirby’s Red Onion twice on the league’s last night to take the title.

Kirby’s beat the Bull Assassins in the semifinals, sending them to the loser’s bracket where they would have to battle back for a shot at the championship. Last Thursday, the Bull Assassins beat the Greene Turtle, 33-22, to advance, but would still have to beat Kirby’s Red Onion twice to win the title.

In the first matchup, Charlie McCaffrey threw a 31-yard touchdown pass to Steve Monroe and a five-yard TD pass to Tyler Boyle to open up a 16-0 lead. Kirby’s Red Onion got on the board with a touchdown pass from Tim Velasco to Justin Feidler to cut the lead to 16-6 at the half. It was all Bull Assassins in the second half.
