Fall Sports Awards Keep Coming For Seahawks

BERLIN- With the fall high school sports seasons in the books, the accolades keep rolling in for the Decatur student-athletes and their coaches with several named over the last week to All Bayside Conference teams.

For the Stephen Decatur varsity golf team, which went undefeated and captured the Bayside Conference and District 8 championships, Danny Parker, Matt Kristick and Brooks Holloway were named First-Team All-Conference. Delaney Iacona and Matt Kinsey were named to the All-Conference-Second Team. Decatur varsity golf coach Jim Krall was named Coach of the Year in the Bayside Conference.

For the Decatur varsity field hockey team, Sara Mitrecic was named to the All-Conference-Second Team, while Reagan Dunham, Hannah FauntLeroy and Sophia Clemente earned Honorable Mention. For the Decatur varsity Cross Country team, Jenna Reimer, Alison Alvarado and Parker Harrington were named First-Team All Bayside Conference and First-Team All 3A South, while Rachel Savage was named All-Conference-First Team.

The girls’ varsity soccer team collected several post-season honors. Named First-Team All-Bayside Conference were Lexi Gausepohl, Jillian Petito, Ally Beck, and Jenna Leitgeb. Named Second-Team All-Conference were Erin Smith, Payton VanKirk and Lexi VanKirk. Earning All-Conference Honorable Mentions were Rachel Bourne, Mallory Vara, Peyton Townsend and Bridgitte Ardis. First-year coach Maggie Berke earned Coach of the Year honors in the Bayside Conference.
