2nd Annual Decatur Way 5K A Big Success

BERLIN- The second annual Decatur Way 5K held last Saturday for the benefit of Stephen Decatur High School and the Decatur Athletic Boosters was a big success with nearly 100 runners competing for a good cause.

Produced by OC Tri Running, the second annual event was held last Saturday along a course that began and ended at Decatur. Runners from the individual classes competed against each other along with teachers and staff members, parents and other supporters and running enthusiasts. The top three overall finishers were Josh Zobenica, who came in at 17:03; Bobby Hammond, who finished in 17:30.6; and Jake Gaddis, who finished in 17:37.

Rounding out the top 10 were John Ford, Jack Reimer, Kevin Herbert, Corey Zimmer, Laura Reimer, Matt Bell and Caleb Bourne. The top finishers among teachers and staff were Matt Bell, Ryan Cowder and Jamie Greenwood. The top finishers among parents and supporters were Zobenica, Hammond and Herbert.

The top three senior class finishers were Gaddis, Alea Aul and Colleen Denston. The top three junior class finishers were Katie Hoffman, Rachel Savage and Adam Kristick. The top three sophomore class finishers were Carl Echols, Brennan Holloway and Zac Cioccio. Finally, the top three freshmen finishers were Ford, Jack Reimer and Bourne.
