Quarterback Justin Meekins ran for a 20-yeard touchdown and Dryden Brous broke loose for an 82-yard touchdown to account for the Seahawks’ early scores.

However, the wheels came off the cart for Decatur with several penalties and turnovers resulting in a big run for the Vikings. Queen Anne’s scored three touchdowns to take a 36-19 lead into the half. The Vikings then scored the first touchdown of the third quarter to extend the lead to 42-19. Queen Anne’s then extended its lead to 30 points late in the third at 49-19 before Decatur mounted a furious comeback attempt.

The Seahawks scored three times on a 58-yard TD run by Meekins, a 23-yard touchdown pass from Meekins to Matt LeCompte and a 22-yard touchdown run by Dontae Baines. However, the damage had been done and Queen Anne’s held on for the 56-41 win. With the loss, the Seahawks fell to 0-2 on the season, which doesn’t get any easier any time soon. Decatur hosts Kent Island tonight before hitting the road for a game next week against Easton.
