Despite the loss in the championship game, reaching the finals in any division at the prestigious Lax Splash was a significant achievement for the Angler team and revealed again how the playing field has leveled for the clubs on the Lower Shore with their western shore counterparts.

In the Lax Splash 9-10B bracket, the local Burley Lacrosse Club also turned in a solid tournament. The club, sponsored by Burley Oak in Berlin beat Dark Horse, 5-1 in its first game last Saturday, but fell to Kelly Post, 10-1, in its second contest. In its third game of the day on Saturday, the Burley Club beat LTRC, 4-3, to win the Silver Division and advance to Sunday. On Sunday, however, Burley lost to Bethesda, 9-4, in the quarterfinals.
