Seahawk Basketball Camp On Tap

BERLIN- The 5th Annual Seahawk Summer Basketball Camp, hosted by Stephen Decatur boys’ varsity coach B.J. Johnson, who was Bayside Conference Coach of the Year, is scheduled for June 16-19 at the Berlin campus.

Johnson has 26 years of coaching experience and led the Seahawks to their first-ever Bayside championship this year and a deep run in the state playoffs. Joining Johnson on the camp’s coaching staff this year will be Greg “Bubby” Brown, the 2001 player of the year in Wicomico and the county’s all-time leading three-point shooter. Brown also made All-Rookie first team in the MEAC conference while at UMES. Also on the camp’s coaching staff is Craig Winder, who set the all-time scoring record in Wicomico County, was a junior college All-American and played on the University of Texas team with Kevin Durant and others.

The camp will feature an emphasis on fundamentals and development. It is opened to boys and girls in grades three through 12 and the participants will be broken down into groups based on age and skill level. The camp will be held on June 16-19 at Decatur with players in grades 3-8 participating from 9 a.m. to noon and players in grades 9-12 taking the court from 1-4 p.m. The cost for early registration is $90 and $100 at the door.
