BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s varsity baseball team swept four games this week to run their current win streak to 11 games and improve to 14-1 overall as they move closer to clinching the Bayside South title.

The week started with a big win over Bayside South foe Bennett, 5-4, last Thursday. The Seahawks took a 3-2 lead in the fourth on an RBI single by Austin Dundore, but Bennett came back and tied it up. Lane Dillon settled the issue by driving in two runs in the sixth to put Decatur ahead for good and secure the 5-4 win. Sean Colgan started for Decatur and Nick Bennett closed it out.

Decatur was back in action on a rare Saturday game and took care of Snow Hill, 11-5. On Monday, the Seahawks routed Wicomico, 15-3. Justin Meekins led the way with three hits including a home run and a double. Ryan Bennett, Nick Bennett and Dillon each collected three hits in the win over the Indians and Colgan was the winning pitcher.

On Tuesday, Decatur cruised past visiting Crisfield, 7-1, for its fourth win in six days and its 11th straight. The Seahawks have now reeled off 11 straight wins after its only loss of the season to Parkside way back on April 1. Decatur was scheduled to play Washington at home yesterday in a game played too late to be included in this edition and will face Indian River at home tomorrow. The Seahawks close out the regular season with a road game against Crisfield next Monday, with the Bayside Conference championship set for next Tuesday at Perdue Stadium.
