Worcester Boys Win was Worth the Wait

BERLIN- After several weather-related postponements and cancelations, the Worcester Prep boys’ varsity lacrosse team finally got on the field last weekend and came away with an impressive 15-6 win on the road against Eleanor Roosevelt High in Greenbelt.

The Mallards did not play their first real game until last Saturday on the last weekend of March, but didn’t show any signs of rust from the long delay. The Worcester boys traveled to Roosevelt and came away with a 15-6 win. Luke Payne led the offense with six goals and an assist, while Sam Deeley scored three goals and dished out two assists.

Wyatt Richens and Thomas Buas each scored twice and contributed two assists, while Jack Marshall doled out three assists. Ross Dickerson also scored a goal, but his major contribution came on face-offs. Dickerson won 16 of 19 face-offs to set the table for the Mallard offense. Worcester will face Tower Hill on the road this afternoon and will travel to Salisbury School on Monday.
