Lower Shore Land Trust Seeks Volunteers

BERLIN — Are you interested in volunteering at a local non-profit that conserves the Lower Eastern Shore’s open spaces, natural heritage, and economy? Do you love being outside and exploring the beautiful landscapes?

If so, join the Lower Shore Land Trust at the Snow Hill Library on March 29 from 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. and learn about the volunteer stewardship program and how Best Management Practices (BMPs) help to protect area waterways and natural wildlife.

This information and training session will provide attendees with information on the Lower Shore Land Trust organization, beneficial land management practices, a monitoring program and how local residents can be involved. The day will be split up between a presentation in the morning followed by field training in the afternoon.

The training will teach citizens how to be a volunteer monitor and what to expect when in the field. This training will also teach you about BMPs used on lands here on the Eastern Shore and how they help keep waterways clean.

The Lower Shore Land Trust has conserved over 18,000 acres of working farms, wildlife habitat and scenic landscapes. As a small non-profit, the Lower Shore Land Trust relies on dedicated volunteers and is looking for people to help. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Sign up is required and you can do so by calling the Lower Shore Land Trust at 410-641-4467 or by emailing [email protected].
