OCPD Seeks Help With Burglaries

OCEAN CITY — The Ocean City Police Department (OCPD) this week are requesting the public’s help in an investigation of a string of burglaries in the north end of town that appear to be related.

The OCPD is currently investigating several recent burglaries in the uptown area between 120th Street and the Delaware line. The burglaries, which appear to be related, have specifically targeted flat screen televisions. Ocean City police are asking anyone with information about the burglaries or the suspects to contact Det. Nick Simpson of the OCPD Criminal Investigation Division at 410-520-5349. In addition, the OCPD’s Crime Tipline is available 24/7 and can be reached at 410-520-5136. Information can be provided anonymously.

Meanwhile, the OCPD is reminding citizens to continue to remain vigilant for suspicious activity. Local residents leaving the area for an extended period of time are encouraged to take advantage of the department’s Residential Security Check program. The free program is available to all Ocean City homeowners. By providing the OCPD with basic information regarding their properties, police officers will conduct security checks at random times each day.
