Decatur Swimmers Remain Unbeaten

BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s girls varsity swimming team remained unbeaten this week, beating Cambridge-South Dorchester, 126-42, on Tuesday to improve to 8-0 on the season.

The Seahawks came away with 10 first-place victories in 11 events and swept the competition in four events. In individual events, Carly Deickman won the 200-freestyle and the 100-breaststroke. Marley Rakow won the 100-freestyle and the 100-backstroke. Molly Wooten won the 100-butterfly and the 500-freestyle and Madison Tinus won the 50-freestyle.

Decatur was also strong in the relays. In the 200-medley relay, Rakow, Deickman, Wooten and Hailey Williams finished first. Deickman, Rakow, Tinus and Rachel Bourne finished first in the 200-freestyle relay. Williams, Bourne, Wooten and Tinus finished first in the 400-freestyle relay.
