SALISBURY — Sharon C. Harrington, 63, of Salisbury, passed away, surrounded by family and friends, on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake.

Born in Salisbury on April 11, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Byard and Caraleigh Carey.

Sharon worked for 40 years at First Shore Federal Savings and Loan Association. She was a Longaberger consultant for many years. Sharon enjoyed collecting primitive antiques, attending auctions and most importantly spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Elton “Buddy” Harrington; two children, Kristen Davis and her husband Patrick of Pittsville and Jason Harrington and his fiancé Kara Rhode of Salisbury; three grandchildren, Reagan and Peyton Davis and Ethan Rhode; her “Wild Child”, Murphy; an Aunt, Myra White and her husband Kenneth; Diane Patkovic; and many other special cousins.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014 at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. Officiating were Pastors Jonathan and Linette Willey. Burial was in Wicomico Memorial Park.

BERLIN — Patricia “Patsy” Sterling, born Aug. 21, 1946, succumbed on Jan. 1, 2014 to a heart attack she suffered on Assateague Island on Dec. 28, 2013.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas Sterling, her brother, Thomas Toye; and her mother, Gloria Toye.

She is survived by her brother, Russell Toye of St. Augustine, Fla. and her sister-in-law, Vicki Toye. She is also survived by her beloved companion of 14 years, Alan Withers; her God-daughter, Hilari Ashton of Berlin; and her many Ocean City friends whom she considered family.

Patsy grew up in the Towson, Md. area and in 1969 made Ocean City her life-long home. Patsy was a loyal employee and devoted friend to John Fager and Fager’s Island for over four decades.

Patsy cherished her pets and the beauty of the Eastern Shore which were the focal points of her personal life. She was passionate about friends, food and fun. Her joyous, resounding laughter will be treasured by many. A celebration of her life will be held in the near future.

BERLIN — Ellen Audrey Kerr (nee Hogan) died peacefully at her home in Severna Park, Md. on Dec. 31, 2013.

Born Feb. 28, 1925 in Baltimore, Audrey was the daughter of the late Richard Grant and Frances Hogan. She was the beloved wife of the late, G. Edward Kerr, Jr., and devoted mother of Judith Ellen Kropfelder of Stevensville, Md.; Margaret Patricia (Sissy) Kerr and husband, Tim Grube, of Severna Park, G. Edward Kerr, III and wife, Laura, of Cockeysville, Md. Casey Kevin Kerr and wife, Sandy, of Bel Air, Sally Ann Thomsen and husband, Tim, of Friday Harbor, Wash. And Richard Patrick (Chuck) Kerr of Stockton. She was also the loving grandmother, known as Fannie, to Katie, Meghan, Nicole, Morgan, George (Eddie), Courtney, Mitch, Kellie, Paige, Jenny, Joshua, Patrick and Ryan as well as seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her siblings Richard Hogan and Nancy Fulkoski.

Audrey married Ed Kerr in 1948 where they resided in Catonsville. In 1973, they moved to Stevensville, where Audrey was an active member of the Kent Island American Legion Auxilliary. She continued her volunteerism and patriotic spirit with the American Legion, VFW and Elks Lodge when she and her husband Ed moved to Ocean City in 1993.

Audrey’s appreciation of education and lifelong love of learning was evident from degrees received from Catonsville Community College and Strayer Business College. Her studies extended from Law and Business to Art and Music. She also attended the University of Baltimore, WorWic Community College and was a member of the first graduating class of Ocean City’s College in Municipal Government. While in Ocean City, she received the Citizens Police Academy Certification.

Audrey was driven to be a professional woman. Her career advanced from the U.S. Customs Office to Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab and then to Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works, where she was the first female Right of Way Agent in the State of Maryland. During the height of her career, she also worked as a real estate agent and instructor. She eased into retirement working part-time for Queen Anne’s County Department of Aging.

A service was held Jan. 5 at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home in Severna Park. A funeral mass of Christian burial was held at St. John the Evangelist, Roman Catholic Church of Severna Park on Jan. 6, 2014. Interment followed at Md. Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.

BERLIN — Charles A. Yealdhall (Chuck) passed away Dec. 17, 2013.

Charles was a veteran and served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II as a Master Sergeant. He was stationed in Germany and England where he met and married his wife, Phyllis. They were married for 69 years.

After the war, Charles returned to Baltimore. He worked at Belsinger sign company where he made the letters for the old Memorial Stadium. Later he worked at Fingles sheet metal company. Chuck retired to Ocean City in 1989 where he enjoyed fishing.

Charles and Phyllis had two sons, Gary and Bob, who are now deceased, unfortunately. He also leaves behind a daughter-in-law, Tereasa; four grandchildren, Aaron, Kristin, Lauren and Kevin; and one great grandchild, Jaxson.

His wife, Phyllis, wishes to thank the Coastal Hospice staff for all of their care and help. She also wishes to thank and God Bless all of the friends and family that Charles enjoyed so much.

DAGSBORO, Del. — Kelly Anne Bunch, 44, of Dagsboro, Del. and formerly of Berlin, died after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, Dec. 21 at home with her family at her side.

Born May 5, 1969 in Washington, DC to Frances and the late Warren Bunch, Kelly grew up in Woodland Beach, Md. and attended South River High School. She participated in the Berlin Pop Warner Cheer Coaching Staff and was a member of the Delmarva Cat Connection. In her spare time, Kelly enjoyed life on the eastern shore, baking and being with her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father and one brother, Eddie Bunch. Kelly is survived by one daughter, Casey O’Brien of Edgewater; her mother of Cudjoe Key, Fla.; her fiancé and soul mate, Jerry Roy of Dagsboro, Del.; two brothers, Randy and Jerry Bunch of Edgewater; and one sister, Mary Ford of Harwood.

Friends are invited to Kelly’s Life Celebration on Saturday, January 11, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. at the Berlin Fire Company located at 214 N. Main St, Berlin, Md. 21811.
