1st Annual OCMC Rockfish Tourney on Tap

OCEAN CITY- The week-long 1st Annual Ocean City Marlin Club Rockfish Tournament gets underway on Sunday with a captain’s meeting and registration with the fishing action set to start on Monday.
The Marlin Club’s first-ever rockfish tournament will run from this Sunday to Sunday, December 15, with six full fishing days all next week. As the name of the tournament implies, rockfish will be the primary species targeted along with red drum and bluefish. The top three heaviest fish in each category will win awards and federal minimum sizes apply for each species. A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
The event gets started with a captain’s meeting on Sunday, followed by six full days of fishing from Monday to Sunday, December 15. Weigh-ins will be held each day from 1-4 p.m. at Ake Marine in West Ocean City. The tournament concludes with an awards banquet next Sunday. Teams can fish from charter boats or from the beach.
