BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s girls’ varsity soccer team lost its first game of the young season this week, falling to Bennett, 5-2, at home on Monday.
Decatur entered the contest with a perfect 3-0 mark after early season wins over Queen Anne’s, Kent Island and Mardela, but fell to the visiting Clippers on Monday. Coach Misty Bunting said the Seahawks had some missed opportunities in the offensive end and a couple of communication breakdowns in the defensive end. Payton VanKirk and Brigitte Ardis each scored single goals for the Seahawks, while Rachel Florek was solid in the net with six saves.
