Decatur Edges Snow Hill for Third Straight

BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s varsity softball team enjoyed another nice week, beating Washington High and county rival Snow Hill in back-to-back games to improve to 13-1 on the season.

After Decatur took its first loss of the season with a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Mardela on April 15, the Seahawks responded in impressive fashion, beating Crisfield, 25-0, and Washington, 18-0, in its next two games. The Seahawks ran their modest winning streak to three games last week with a much closer 8-6 win over Worcester County rival Snow Hill. Jessica Iacona was the winning pitcher against Snow Hill and struck out nine, while Amanda Parsons had three hits including a home run and three RBIs. Lauren Laque also had two hits against the Eagles.
