Casino Shows Modest Gains in November

BERLIN- Maryland Lottery officials this week released the revenue figures for November revealing the Casino at Ocean Downs continues to make modest gains, while the results were mixed for the state’s other two operating facilities.

The Casino at Ocean Downs generated $3.3 million in November, representing an increase of about $213,147, or around seven percent, over November 2011. The gross gaming revenue per machine per day at the Casino at Ocean Downs in November came in at $138.14. The calendar year-to-date revenue generated by the Casino at Ocean Downs through November totals about $46.6 million. In November, the Berlin casino generated roughly $1.6 million for the Education Trust Fund and produced $182,351 in local impact grants.

Statewide, Maryland’s three operating casinos produced $43 million in November, driven largely by the $34 million produced by Maryland Live in Anne Arundel County, which opened this summer. Maryland’s first casino, the Hollywood Casino Perryville in Cecil County, continued to see its numbers decline with $5.4 million generated in November, representing a remarkable decline of 40 percent from November 2011.
