AGH Adds Doctor
BERLIN – Atlantic General Hospital has announced that Rabindra Paul, M.D., has joined Atlantic General Hospital and Health System to provide medical oncology and hematology services. In this role, he oversees treatments at the Outpatient Infusion Center and provides comprehensive care management for patients diagnosed with all types of cancer.
Paul is a highly experienced physician with 11 years of training, including a fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C. He is board certified by the American Board of Infectious Diseases, Internal Medicine, Hematology, and Medical Oncology.
Paul sees patients at his office located within the James G. Barrett Medical Office Building and oversees chemotherapy treatments at the Outpatient Infusion Center at Atlantic General Hospital. D
New Pharmacist Announced
BERLIN — Apple Discount Drugs has announced the addition of Robert Davis to the team of pharmacists in the Berlin location.
Davis has 20 years of experience working behind the pharmacy counter. After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh in 1995 with a degree in pharmaceutical science, he spent several years practicing pharmacy in Delaware and six years ago made the move to start working in Maryland pharmacies.
“We are thrilled to bring a resident pharmacist on board at Apple Berlin,” said Jeff Sherr, president of Apple Discount Drugs. “We always value the expertise and passion that an experienced veteran pharmacist brings to the business and customers.”
Davis added, “Through my 20 years in pharmacy, I have always valued the close relationships I have with my customers. They call me with questions and for recommendations because I have established a level of trust with them when it comes to their health and well-being. I also think it is very important to develop a strong partnership with my customer’s physicians. By being on the same page about a patient’s condition, we can all collectively provide a more effective healthcare plan.”
The Berlin Apple location is in close proximity to the Ocean Pines/West Ocean City areas, which tend to attract a larger population of retired residents. Knowing the area well, Davis saw this as an opportunity to promote the free delivery service that Apple provides to those specific areas to help elderly residents get their prescriptions filled without having to leave the comfort of their homes.
“I know the senior population prefers to have their prescriptions filled by someone they trust and knows their health background,” said Davis. “My plan is to go out of my way to make sure the people I serve through Apple Discount Drugs, know that I am personally involved in their plan of care and can rely on me as their pharmacist to guide them through their health needs.”
Bank Official Honored
BERLIN — Raymond M. Thompson, president and CEO of Calvin B. Taylor Banking Co. in Berlin, has announced that Human Resources Manager Alysson E. DuPont has been named one of Maryland’s “Next Leaders in Banking”. DuPont received this recognition at an awards luncheon held on Nov. 9, 2012 at the BWI Marriott Hotel in Linthicum.
The award was first introduced in 2011 by the Maryland Banker’s Association, in conjunction with the Warren Group. The Next Leaders in Banking are chosen independently by a panel of unbiased judges. Recipients are considered rising stars in the banking industry who have made significant contributions to their banking institutions, and communities in which they serve.
“We are proud of Alysson’s professional achievements, and honored that she was one of only 12 recipients of this prestigious award this year, said Thompson.
