Ocean City Announces New Halloween Activities

OCEAN CITY — Summer might be over but the free family fun continues with three new exciting events coming to Ocean City this October.

 The first event is the giant “Halloween Beach Maze” on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 20-21 and Oct. 27-28, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. each day.

Experience a “pleasant” scream as you meander the sands of the giant beach maze. Wicked witches, pirates of the sand, scary scarecrows, ghouls in the graveyard, zombies and more await your arrival. The beach maze is free for the whole family. Look for the entrance to the maze on the beach near North Division Street.

The next event you don’t want to miss is the “Howl-O-Ween Pet Parade” on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 2 p.m. Lots of prizes and surprises will be awarded for best dressed pets, family and friends. Gather your goblins, dress in your best costume and parade the boards. The parade will begin at 2 p.m. on the boardwalk at N. Division Street. Registration will take place starting at 1 p.m. It’s free to enter. Plus show your support for the Worcester County Humane Society by making a donation of pet food, blankets, toys, treats or any other pet friendly items. The rain date for the pet parade will be Sunday, Oct. 21 at 2 p.m.

Rounding out the events for O.C.toberfest is “The Great Pumpkin Race” on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 2 p.m. This event is a wacky and zany side-by-side race featuring wild and tricked out pumpkin racecars. Join the free fun by creating your very own pumpkin racecar and enjoy a fun-spirited good ole fashion bump and bang pumpkin race. Prizes will be awarded for creativity and for the winner of the race. It’s a run what you bring pumpkin race with a few simple rules to follow.

If you’re not up for the challenge of making a pumpkin racecar, come watch all the excitement and cheer on your favorite racer! The rain date for “The Great Pumpkin Race” will be Sunday, Oct. 28 at 2 p.m.
