Wine Festival On The Beach Begins Today In Resort

OCEAN CITY — The 17th Annual “Wine Festival on the Beach” will be held Sept. 28-29 at the Inlet Park in Ocean City, featuring wineries from all over the East Coast.

The festival will be open Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m.-7 p.m.

In addition to the vast array of wine offerings, there will be several vendors offering an array of international cuisine. There will also be several arts and craft vendors, several micro-brewed beers for purchase. Popular local recording artists including “Bird Dog and The Road Kings” will provide music conductive to relaxation during the days of the festival.
While strolling from winery to winery with your complimentary Wine Fest tasting glass you will receive upon entering, you can mingle with your friends while sipping fine wine, marveling at the fine arts and crafts along the way and still be enjoying the live entertainment with our sand stage setting. Bring your chair or blanket and enjoy the entertainment.
Tickets for the festival are $25 (general admission) at the gate. The cost includes a commemorative wine glass and sample coupons. For those who don’t drink, general admission includes commemorative wine glass and unlimited soft drinks from the designated driver location. Under-21 guests are $5 and must be accompanied by a parent. Children under 7 years of age admitted free. No one under 21 years of age is admitted without a parent.

Maryland vineyards scheduled to be on hand include Boordy Vineyards, Dove Valley Winery, Far Eastern Shore Winery, Frederick Cellars, Knob Hall Winery, Layton’s Chance Vineyard and Winery, Legends Vineyard, Linganore Winecellars, Solomons Island Winery and St. Michaels Winery,

Fenwick Cellars will represent Delaware, and Brotherhood and Hazlitt Vineyards will be on hand from New York. Chaddsford Winery will represent Pennsylvania.

Others include Horton Vineyards from Virginia and Forks of Cheat Winery and West Whitehill from West Virginia.

Breweries on hand will include Fat Tire and St. Michaels Ale

Vendorse planned to appear include BJ’s Holders, Cloth Wine Holders, PJ Creations, Jewelry, Senior Cigars, Herman Cutting Boards, 1000 Oaks Barrel, Rhinestone Wine T-Shirts, Save The Coconuts, Pecan Yummies, Amused Studios, Women Supporting Women, Jim n’ Mo, Secolari, Taste The Difference On The Move, Cooler Gadgets, Scared Mountain Essentials and The Shore Sisters.

Live entertainment this year will include on Friday from noon-3 p.m. Blues Deville and 4-7 p.m. Bird Dog and the Road Kings. On Saturday, 3 Penny Opera will entertain from 12:30-3:30 p.m. and Bird Dog and The Road Kings from 4-7 p.m.
