Kickoff Set For Making Strides Campaign

OCEAN CITY — The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer team will hold a kickoff breakfast on Aug. 29 at Hooters Restaurant in West Ocean City from 8-9 a.m.

The breakfast will feature highlights of the inaugural Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event from 2011 and will offer teams the opportunity to pick up registration packets for this years’ event. Please RSVP for the breakfast by calling Chris Butler at 410-726-4370 or [email protected].

The 2nd Annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 20 at the Inlet in Ocean City.

The 5K run and walk will take place along the Boardwalk. Registration will start at 7:30 a.m. and the walk will kick off at 9 a.m. with a fun group warm-up. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.
Beverly Furst, chairwoman and organizer of the local event, has assembled a team of like-minded women in the community who all share her passion for defeating the disease.

“The main focus of Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is to bring awareness to the community about breast cancer and for people of all ages to come together to work to eliminate the disease,” she said.
For more information or to register, visit www.stridesoceancity.org or contact Laura Martin at the American Cancer Society at 410-749-1624 or [email protected] or plan to attend the Kickoff Breakfast.
