Banker Graduates
BERLIN – Raymond M. Thompson, President and CEO of Calvin B. Taylor Banking Company in Berlin, has announced that Lee I. Chisholm graduated with honors from the Maryland Banking School earlier this month.
Chisholm is the branch manager of the bank’s Snow Hill office and a resident of Girdletree. He has been employed by Taylor Bank since March of 2006.
The Maryland Banking School offers perspectives on forces that shape the financial services industry. Through an emphasis on developing leadership, managerial and technical skills, and creating a resource network, students enhance their individual and corporate performance to thrive in the evolving financial services marketplace.
Designer Wins Awards
BERLIN — The American Institute of Building Designs recently announced the 2012 American Residential Design Awards winners for Best in Show and Designers’ Choice.
Winners include Berlin designer Joe Hill of Traditional Design Services, who placed in two different categories. Hill received first place in the Green Design category and second place in the 2,501-4,000-square-foot Conceptual Design category.
A long time resident of Worcester County, Hill was born in Snow Hill and resides in Berlin with his wife Di and works from his Pitt St. office, located in Berlin.
OC Announces Promotion
OCEAN CITY — Jessica Waters has been promoted to the position of Communications Manager for the Town of Ocean City.
Waters, who joined the town in December 2007 as public affairs specialist at the Ocean City Police Department, will now move to the City Manager’s Office at City Hall. She replaces Donna Abbott, who was promoted to the position of Tourism and Marketing Director.
“I am very pleased to welcome Jessica to the Communications Manager position,” said City Manager David Recor. “She will be a great asset to the citizens.”
Waters will oversee and coordinate the town’s various communications efforts. She will work closely with all of the town’s departments to promote town programs and services.
“I look forward to working with the city manager and all the departments to help keep citizens informed,” Waters said.
Prior to becoming the public affairs specialist with the police department, Waters worked as the advertising and marketing coordinator for the Ocean City Recreation and Parks Department. She began her town employment as an intern with the Public Relations Office.

Wor-Wic Employees Retire
SALISBURY — Eight employees recently retired from Wor-Wic Community College after many years of dedicated service. Dr. Denise D. Marshall of Salisbury retired as department head and professor of nursing. Marshall began working at Wor-Wic in 1984 as an instructor of nursing. In 1992, she was promoted to the head of the nursing department. In tribute to her 28 years of service to Wor-Wic, Marshall was bestowed the honorary title of professor emeritus by the college’s board of trustees. Jackie Molisani of Linkwood retired as an administrative associate in the nursing department after 33 years of service.
Thomas R. Owens of Hebron retired as a night supervisor after 31 years of service. He began working at Wor-Wic in 1981 as a maintenance worker.
Dr. Lucille A. Rudnick of Salisbury retired as professor of nursing. In tribute to her 33 years of service, Rudnick was bestowed the honorary title of professor emeritus by the college board of trustees. Mark V. Rudnick of Salisbury retired as vice president for administrative services. In tribute to his 36 years of service, Rudnick was bestowed the honorary title of vice president emeritus by the college board of trustees. Dione T. Shaw of Willards retired last summer as executive associate for the vice president for academic and student affairs. She has held various positions across campus during her 31 years of service at the college. Reid H. Sterrett Sr. of Ocean City retired last summer as part-time librarian after 12 years of service. Lucille Townsend of Upper Hill retired last fall as a building attendant after 10 years of service.
