Seahawks Fall to Parkside, 9-7

BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s varsity baseball team dropped a close one to Parkside this week, 9-7, for only its second loss of the season and its first since an April 11 loss to undefeated Bennett.

The Seahawks have been dominating for much of the season, there only loss coming to the Clippers back on April 11. Decatur had won seven in a row and 14 out of 15 before falling to Parkside, 9-7, on Monday. Connor Molloy led the Decatur offense with three hits, while Teron Tyre collected two hits.

Before the loss to the Rams this week, Decatur had beaten Washington, 12-3, last Wednesday, and Snow Hill, 4-0, last Friday. Against Snow Hill, Grant Donahue went the distance for the win and struck out eight. Mike O’Neill had two hits and scored two runs, while Steve Ruggiere also had two hits.
