OC Police Seek Missing Man

OCEAN CITY — Ocean City Police this week are seeking the public’s help in locating a New York man reported missing by his family since early last Saturday morning.

Lance Corey Gaines, who was visiting Ocean City with his family from upstate New York, was last seen on April 21 at approximately 1 a.m. at the Sandbar on 33rd Street. Gaines has brown hair, blue eyes and was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. He is roughly 6’4” tall and about 190 pounds.

According to reports, family members said Gaines went out for a walk and later went out to the bar. Shortly after midnight, or about an hour after he was last seen, he reportedly sent a text message to his girlfriend, the contents of which have not been made public. Gaines reportedly sent what appeared to be a video message around 1 a.m.

Throughout the week, family and friends have been distributing fliers throughout the area in an attempt to get the word out about Gaines’ disappearance.

Police are asking anyone who has seen Gaines or has had contact with him to contact Detective Carl Perry with the OCPD Criminal Investigation Division at 410-723-6604.
