Bikes To The Beach This Weekend

OCEAN CITY — Featuring live music, a custom bike show, celebrities and a new bike run, the 2nd Annual Bikes to the Beach extravaganza is now underway and continues through Sunday.

Hosted at Hooper’s Crab House in West Ocean City and the Oasis Bar and Grille in Whaleyville, events are planned throughout the weekend and include something for everyone, particularly live music.

Throughout this year’s event, a participant ride will consist of a treasure hunt. Participants will register and receive a treasure map with all the designated spots outlined. At each site, participants must find the answer to a provided riddle. Once the correct answer is received, a key will be awarded. Each key earned increases the chances of finding the key that opens the ultimate treasure chest at the Oasis on Sunday at 1 p.m.

The ride continues all weekend. You may register at any time at Hooper’s Crab House during the event for $20.  The grand prize will consist of $500 cash, hotel vouchers, more than $400 in gift certificates, official event merchandise, a collector’s edition Zippo lighter, an official licensed Harley jacket and more.

According to organizers, there will also be two drawings as consolation prizes featuring Ocean City getaway packages including hotel accommodations and food gift certificates.

At Hooper’s Crab House today, the live bands begin at 10 a.m. and go all day. On Friday at 1 p.m., Hooper’s will be hosting a model search to be the new faces of the event. Winners will be featured in all promotional materials with first-place finisher claiming a $200 cash prize; second place, $100; and third place, $50. Model Michelle Smith will be on hand for a meet and greet. In addition, bikini bike washes will be offered.

Over in Whaleyville at the Oasis, a motorcycle rodeo will take place during the day following by SirPsyco band in the afternoon and DJ Marla and Dust N’ Bones rounding the entertainment for the day.

On Saturday, the live music bonanza continues at both host sites, starting at 10 a.m. At Hooper’s, a custom bike show will be featured at 1 p.m. with registration mandatory by noon. Jousting and bikini bike washes will also be offered throughout the day.

At Oasis, on Saturday, entertainment includes Randy Lee Ashcraft with the Saltwater Cowboys, SilverTung, Scarred Dangerous Thrill Show, DJ Moonshine and the motorcycle rodeo.

The event wraps up on Sunday with vendors at Hooper’s Crab House offering last-minute deals, and Oasis offering the Bo Dickerson Band, the Scarred Dangerous Thrill Show, the Battle of the Bands and the Treasure Chest Finale/Receipt Run.
