Competition & Art Festival

Roland E. Powell Convention Center, O.C. View world class bird carvings and sculptures, bid on world class art at the benefit auction at 3 p.m. Saturday, shop at the over 100 exhibitors booths and enjoy kids’ activities. 4-7 p.m., Atlantic United Methodist Church, 105 4th St., O.C. Sponsored by the Youth Ministry to benefit their mission trip to Pine Ridge, South Dakota in June. April 28: Putt-Putt Challenge

1:30 p.m., Old Pro Golf, 68th St., O.C. To benefit the United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore. Teams of four players compete for the title of “world champion” with prizes for 1st and 2nd and prizes for costumes and a prize for the last place winner. Cheats will be available for purchase. April 29: Author Gordon Katz To Speak

10:30 a.m., Dewees Hall, St. Paul’s by-the-Sea Church, Baltimore Ave. & 3rd St., O.C. Gordon Katz, author of “102 Gentle-man & A Lady” will give a presentation entitled “A Tract Of Land Called Carmel,” an experience for all that are fascinated with the delvopment of the city that began on the sandy beach in 1875.

April 29: Mid-Atlantic Symphony
Season Finale Concert

3 p.m., with a pre-concert presentation at 2 p.m.; The Community Church at Ocean Pines, Rte. 589. A rousing conclusion to the musical season with Dvorak’s Symphony No. 8 performed my the Mid-Atlantic Symphony. Cost: $35. Also there will be a “Music to Dine For” event post-concert at The Atlantic Hotel immediately following. Cost: $150, with $50 for dinner and $100 donation. Seating is limited. 1-4 p.m., Ocean Pines Library. Got plant problems or bugs? Bring a bagged sample by and let the expert Master Gardeners find solutions to your questions.

May 2: AGH “In The Bag” Sale

8 a.m.-4 p.m., Atlantic General Hospital, main lobby. Sponsored by the Auxiliary with all proceeds benefiting the hospital. Huge selection of fashion handbags, leather and designer handbags. Wallets, luggage, mini bags and many small leather goods.

May 2: TOPS Meeting

May 2: Purnell Museum Home School Program

10 a.m.-noon, Purnell Museum, 208 W. Market St., Snow Hill. Educational program for home school students ages 6-12 on fishing local waterways and the history of fishing.
