Nottinghams Hitting the Mark at WC

BERLIN- Former Stephen Decatur softball standouts, sisters Shae and Kylie Nottingham, are making their mark on the diamond at Washington College with several honors collected over the first few weeks of the regular season.

Kylie was named Centennial Conference Player of the Week last week, earning the award for the second time in her young career and the first time outright. She was named Co-Conference Player of the Week last year as a freshman. In Washington’s first two games of the season, Kylie went 6-8 at plate for a .750 average with five runs scored, three doubles and an RBI. She also recorded a 1.125 slugging percentage and a .778 on-base average with nine total bases.

This week, Kylie was named Washington College’s Shorewoman of the Week after a great pair of games despite losing both ends of the double-header against nationally ranked Rowan College. Kylie went 3-6 with two doubles, a run scored and an RBI in the twin bill. Six of her 10 hits this season have been doubles.

Meanwhile, Shae Nottingham has been busy making her own mark on Washington College softball this season. Before the season began, Shae was named one of the team’s three captains after an outstanding sophomore season last year when had career highs in runs scored (24), walks (10), and stolen bases (4). She has started every one of the team’s 74 games since arriving at Washington College as a freshman.
