Top Producer Named

WILLARDS — Atlantic/Smith, Cropper & Deeley has announced Travis Hinman as top producer for September.

Hinman, who joined the agency as an account executive in February 2009 and is a veteran of the US Army, is licensed for property, casualty, life and health insurance.

Non-Profit Adds Members

SALISBURY — United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore has announced the addition of two team members, completing the team of six employees who support local programs and services for non-profit agencies throughout Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset and Dorchester counties.

Dale Dryden, finance manager, brings nearly 40 years of accounting and financial management experience to United Way. His background includes degrees in Accounting and Business Administration, and positions held through Executive Management.

Pamela Gregory has joined the United Way team as donor relations director. Her responsibilities include supporting and building awareness of United Way programs, communications, donor relations, and special projects. A Lower Shore native, she attended Salisbury University and offers over 20 years of experience in sales, marketing, management and technology.

Director Honored

OCEAN CITY – Ocean City Recreation and Parks Director Thomas J. Shuster was recently selected to receive the Distinguished Professional Award by the Mid-Atlantic Regional Network of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA). NRPA will present the award publicly at a special reception of the Association’s 2011 Congress & Exposition in Atlanta, on Nov. 2.

Launched this year, NRPA Network Awards are designed to honor NRPA members for their significant efforts in specialized areas of parks and recreation. Individuals are chosen for their contributions to advancing the movement through professional service, volunteerism and education.

Shuster has been an active member of the recreation and parks field for 40 years and has served as Director of Recreation and Parks in Ocean City since 1998. He has served NRPA as a past board member of the National Society of Park Resources, member of the Great Lakes Regional Council and member and chairman of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Council. He has most recently served as the resident of the Maryland Recreation and Parks Association (2010-2011).

“We are pleased to see Tom honored with this NRPA Award,” said Mayor Rick Meehan. “He has made a substantial contribution to parks and recreation in Ocean City, Md. and the Mid-Atlantic region.”

PRMC Announces Hire

SALISBURY — Thomas M. Anderson, who has a better than 350year career with supervisory positions in the fields of healthcare, engineering and facilities management, has been named the next executive director of facilities and properties at Peninsula Regional Medical Center (PRMC), a 363-bed facility in Salisbury.

At PRMC, he will oversee the departments of facilities management, biomedical engineering, environmental services, patient transportation, planning/design & construction and protection services.

Anderson, most recently of URS Corporation in Washington, DC, holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Middleham University.

From 1981 through 2010, he held a series of leadership and executive positions in facilities management and plant operations at leading healthcare institutions including Johns Hopkins Hospital, the University of Maryland Medical Systems and Mercy Medical Center, all located in Baltimore. At those hospitals, as well as Providence Hospital in Washington, DC, he coordinated various construction planning and design operations, while supervising a number of different departments.
