SU Earns Another Top Ranking

SALISBURY — Salisbury University earned another feather in its cap this week after being named one of U.S. News and World Report’s Best Colleges for 2012, marking the 15th year the institution has been recognized by the magazine.

“We are very proud that SU has been ranked the number one regional public university in Maryland and one of the best in the north,” said Dr. Diane Allen, SU provost and senior vice president of academic affairs. “This achievement is a testament to our hard-working faculty and dedicated staff whose efforts help us attract outstanding students.”

Salisbury University is also one of the top 10 Public Regional Universities in the north and the only Maryland university recognized in the category. It is also the only campus outside New York and New Jersey recognized by the publication.

The 626 universities in the Best Regional University category are split among four geographic areas- north, south, Midwest and west. In the northern region, Salisbury ranked 41st among 142 public and private institutions.
