We Remember Those We Have Lost

Warren A. Church

MILLSBORO — Warren A. Church of Millsboro passed away on March 17, 2011.  He was born in Oakland, Calif.

Mr. Church moved to Millsboro from Ocean City. He and his wife Joan resided for several years in Homossasa, Fla., before settling back in Millsboro.     

He retired from the U.S. Navy after 22 years of service. He served in Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association and a life member of the VFW Post 8296 in Ocean City.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Church; daughter, Debra Davis and family of Ellicott City; son, Scott Church and family of Annapolis,; stepdaughters, Karen Skidmore and family of Fuquay Varina, N.C., Susan Bowen and family of Edgewater, Md,, Tracey Bryan and Lisa Workman and families of Georgetown, Del. and Kristin Smith and family, Millsboro, Del.; and stepson, Mickey Burrhus and family of Pasadena, Md.

Mr. Church is also survived by a host of loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Mr. Church also adored his two family pets, Sassy and Tinker.  

A memorial service was held Monday, March 21, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, Del., where friends may call after noon. Interment will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro, Del.
