Tournament to Honor Late Coach

SNOW HILL- The late Allen Miller, long-time Snow Hill High School teacher and coach who passed away unexpectedly last fall, will be honored with a first-ever memorial golf tournament in his name next month.

Miller, a teacher and coach at Snow Hill High for two decades, passed away of an apparent heart attack last September, leaving the entire community stunned at the sudden loss of a man so passionate and dedicated to his school, his student-athletes and his family. Miller was perhaps best known in Snow Hill, where he taught and coached for two decades, but his legacy extends far beyond the quiet, rural town in the south end of the county. He was well known in Berlin and Ocean City and across the entire Eastern Shore, where he played and coached sports at every level and at every age group.

In his honor, family and friends have organized the 1st Annual Allen Miller Memorial Golf Tournament, set for Monday, April 25, at the Ocean City Golf Club in South Point. The event begins with registration at 11:30 a.m., followed by a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Following the action on the course will be an awards dinner and beverages. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Snow Hill High School Scholarship Fund and the Allen Miller Foundation.
