Beach Lacrosse Fundraisers on Tap

BERLIN- In conjunction with its ongoing registration drive to the 2011 season, the Beach Lacrosse Program has two major fundraising events on tap in the coming weeks.

Beach Lacrosse, a volunteer organization that has been around for 18 years and has introduced thousands of young local players to the game including many now playing in high school and college, is currently nearing the home stretch for registration for the 2011 season and has several fundraisers planned in order raise money for uniforms, equipment and travel expenses for players. The club does not turn away any interested players regardless of their ability to pay and uses funds raised for its scholarship programs.

To that end, Beach Lacrosse has two events slated in March to raise funds for their various programs. The first is set for tomorrow, Saturday, March 5, at Old Pro Indoor Golf on 68th Street from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. For a flat fee of $20, an entire family can enjoy miniature golf indoors regardless of the number of players, representing great savings over the normal rates.

In addition, Beach Lacrosse is hosting an adult-themed fundraiser at the Greene Turtle West on March 24 from 6-9 p.m. The event features live entertainment, draft beer and appetizers, giveaways, raffles and auctions in exchange for a nominal donation to the club at the door.
