Excellence Recognized

BERLIN – Jennifer Hoffman of Genesis Rehab Services was recently awarded The Genesis Rehab Services Customer Excellence Award for her outstanding commitment to her patients.

This award recognizes program managers who display outstanding customer service and customer satisfaction. To be a candidate for this award, the practice manager needed to go above and beyond to meet the customers’ needs by among other things, listening and demonstrating proactive and “solution oriented” problem solving skills, show active concern for the customer, as well as serves as a strong customer advocate.

Hoffman has been with Genesis since June 2005 and was promoted to practice manager at Atlantic General Hospital in July 2007. She is the leader of a small, but highly experienced team of clinicians at AGH. The rehab department provides evaluations and treatment interventions in all areas of the hospital including the Emergency Department, the ICU and step-down units, and the Center for Joint Surgery.

Ann Boughton PT, CS, a clinical specialist at Genesis who nominated Hoffman, said, “Jennifer has been able to achieve this excellent level of Customer Satisfaction in an extremely challenging environment- guiding her team to be able to provide excellent clinical care amidst many medical challenges and personalities, and with few other GRS peers available for support due to uniqueness of her setting within our company.”

Study Praises Hospital Care

SALISBURY – Peninsula Regional Medical Center’s emergency medicine care, provided at the Robert T. Adkins, M.D. Emergency/Trauma Center, has been found to be among the top 5% in the nation, according to a new study released recently by HealthGrades, the leading independent healthcare ratings organization.

Peninsula Regional Medical Center is the only recipient of the HealthGrades 2010 Emergency Medicine Excellence Award™ on the Delmarva Peninsula, and one of just nine hospitals in Maryland, Delaware and Washington, DC to receive the designation. Peninsula Regional’s emergency medicine care was also 5-Star rated in same study.

“Not only are we the most experienced emergency/trauma team on the Delmarva Peninsula, we also serve the most patients with over 80,000 visits to our Emergency Department each year,” said Susan Castrignano, BSA, MHA, Director of Emergency/Trauma Care Services at PRMC who oversees the Robert T. Adkins, M.D. Emergency/Trauma Center. “We know that each of our patients receives a quality of emergency care that is among the best in the tri-state region and rivals that of the very best centers nationwide.”
