Mabel R. Hungerford
BERLIN – Mabel R. Hungerford (nee Rennebaum) died on Nov. 22, 2010. Age 88.

She was the wife of the late Churchill Hungerford, Jr.; step-mother of Henry Hungerford and the late Churchill Hungerford, III; sister of the late Katherine Fowler, Dorothy Rennebaum, and Leon Rennebaum; aunt of loving niece Joan Sharp and her husband Bill of Williamstown, Leon Rennebaum, Jr. and his wife Liz of Williamstown and Churchill "Churchie" Fowler of Glassboro; daughter of the late August and Marion (nee Parker) Rennebaum; and dear friend of Joann Sparks of Wenonah. 
She was born and raised in Cecil, NJ. She was a resident of Wenonah for over 50 years and currently lived in Sewell. She was a graduate of Glassboro High School and worked for many years as a secretary at Hungerford & Terry in Clayton. She spent many summers down at Ocean City. She loved fishing and hunting with her husband. 
Services were held. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Mabel’s memory to benefit London Dally, a little 10-month-old girl with a rare cancer. She is the loving great-niece of Joan and Bill Sharp. Arrangements under direction of the Barclay Funeral Home.

Sarah P. White

BERLIN – Sarah P. White, age 95, died Friday Nov. 26 at Berlin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  Born in Fort Dupont, Del., she was the daughter of the late Col. Harry Selbey Purnell and Elizabeth Spence Kenly Purnell.  She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Wallace White, Sr. in 1995 and her son Robert W. White, Jr. in 1963. 

She is survived by her son, Edward Kenly "Ken" White and his wife Freda and their son Shawn Kenly White of Rochester, N.Y., and a daughter Elizabeth "Betsy" Purnell White of Berlin. Also surviving is beloved nieces Judy Reeser and Lynn Thomas;  nephews Bruce Spicer, John H. Purnell and Harry S. Purnell, Jr.; and  sisters-in-law Reba Purnell and Margaret Purnell.

White received her BS degree from Notre Dame College and taught math and chemistry at Buckingham High School in Berlin. She was a Charter member of General Levin Winder Chapter of the Daughter’s of the American Revolution.  She was a lifetime member of the National Society of Colonial Dames of America and the Worcester County Garden Club.

Services were held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 429, Berlin, Md. 21811 or to The Worcester County Developmental Center, 8545 Newark Road Newark, Md. 21841-2021.

Arrangements are being handled by the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin.
