New Management Firm for OP Golf

OCEAN PINES- The Ocean Pines Association this week announced it was contracting with the well-known and highly successful Billy Casper Golf to manage its Ocean Pines Golf and Country Club.

Billy Casper Golf, owner and operator of over 125 golf courses including 25 in the mid-Atlantic area, will take over day-to-day operations at the Ocean Pines Golf and Country Club. The firm will oversee all aspects of the club’s operations including marketing and public relations, staffing and training, merchandizing, clubhouse food and beverage operations, financial management, golf instruction and special events.

The company’s namesake, former PGA pro Billy Casper, was the Ocean Pines Club’s touring professional when the course opened in 1971. Billy Casper Golf was chosen from among seven other potential candidates to run the Ocean Pines course following a nationwide search by the OPA.

“We’re excited to partner with Billy Casper Golf,” said OPA Board of Directors president Tom Terry. “The company is positioned to bring fresh ideas, a strong infrastructure and operational perfectionism to further wow golfers.”

For its part, Billy Casper Golf is also looking forward to the new relationship.

“Ocean Pines boasts a strong golf course and a sense of community pride,” said Billy Casper Golf chairman and CEO. “Billy Casper Golf will build on those tenets by acutely delivering superb course conditions and enjoyable guest activities time and again.”
