Management Team Changes

OCEAN CITY – Phillips Seafood Restaurants has announced changes to its restaurant management team in Ocean City.

Mike Caggigo has been named Executive Chef of Phillips Seafood House. Caggigo began his career with Phillips in 1981. He was kitchen manager at Phillips Seafood House, then moved to Phillips By The Sea and worked as kitchen manager, assistant general manager and most recently as general manager of Phillips Beach Plaza Hotel and Phillips By The Sea Restaurant.

Suzanne Jackson has been named general manager of Phillips Beach Plaza Hotel. Jackson began her career with Phillips in 1977. She has worked in many different capacities at Phillips Beach Plaza Hotel and also at Phillips Crab House. Most recently, she served as the company’s Ocean City human resources manager.

Mike Meekins has been appointed general manager of Phillips Seafood House. Meekins started his career with Phillips 34 years ago working as a bus boy at Phillips By The Sea. Later he became headwaiter at Phillips Seafood House. In 1990, Meekins traveled to Washington, DC to assist with the opening of Phillips Flagship Restaurant and served as dining room manager. He then returned to Ocean City and has worked most recently in the capacity of assistant general manager of Phillips Crab House.

Randy Stanley has been appointed executive chef for Phillips Crab House. Stanley began in 1988 working in the warehouse at Phillips Crab House. He then traveled with Phillips for a restaurant opening in Florida in 1994 and served as kitchen manager. He then returned to Ocean City and held the position of buffet manager both at Phillips Crab House and Phillips Seafood House. Most recently he was the general manager of Phillips Seafood House.

Staff Members Make Presentation

BERLIN – Colleen Wareing, Atlantic General Hospital’s (AGH) vice president of patient care, and Jeanette Troyer, the hospital’s clinical excellence coordinator, presented at the Maryland Nurses Association’s annual convention held at Anne Arundel Medical Center this fall.

The presentation, titled “The Brass Ring: Common Goals Towards Enhanced Outcomes,” outlined AGH’s evolution to a shared governance model that includes the valuable input of nurses and other front line staff in their strategic planning processes for new services or improved care delivery.

For the past three years, Wareing has helped lead the journey towards Magnet Recognition, improving continually on existing processes, implementing new strategies of engagement and integrating a collaborative model towards improved patient outcomes.  She attended the Wharton Nursing Leaders of the Future Program and was recently recertified as a Nurse Executive, Advanced.

As the clinical excellence coordinator, Troyer is responsible for guiding AGH toward excellence through the use of components found within the Magnet Recognition Program.  She recently served as a co-presenter at the national conference for the National Association for Rural Mental Health.
