BERLIN- Worcester Prep’s girls’ varsity soccer team suffered its first loss of the season last week, falling to host St. Andrews, 7-0, last Friday.

The Mallards had been cruising all season, racking up an impressive 6-0 record before a visit to perennial Delaware powerhouse St. Andrews last Friday. The Saints dominated the game from the beginning, scoring early and often on the offensive end while stifling every attempt by Worcester to get their own offense on track. The Saints dominated the game in the middle of the field, winning possession and continually forcing the ball in Worcester’s defensive end.

Worcester’s record now stands at 6-1 with a lot of soccer still to play. The Mallards face Gunston at home this afternoon in the first of three straight home games to close out the regular season. Worcester will get a shot at redemption when it hosts St. Andrew’s at home next Tuesday and will wrap up the regular season with another home game against cross-town rival Stephen Decatur next Thursday.
