Horizons Restaurant Honored With Wine Spectator Award

OCEAN CITY – Horizons Oceanfront Restaurant, the main dining room in the Clarion Resort Fontainebleau Hotel, was honored this year by The Wine Spectator magazine, considered the most well-read and internationally respected magazine for those who love wine.

For the past 14 years, Horizons’ wine list has received the “Award of Excellence” in recognition for its well-chosen selection of quality producers and thematic match to the menu in both price and style.

This year, Horizons Oceanfront Restaurant was privileged to be recognized with the “Best of Award of Excellence” – the second of The Wine Spectator’s three-tiered award program.

This honor is in recognition to restaurants that clearly exceed the requirements of the “Award of Excellence”; many are close to the highest honor, “The Grand Award” level.

These lists display either vintage depth, with vertical offerings of several top producers from major regions, or excellent breadth spread over several winegrowing regions. These wine lists typically offer over 400 or more selections, along with superior presentation.

Horizons wine book, “The List” has over 440 selections from around the world and offers great depth in both the French Bordeaux and California Reds. Particular attention is paid toward the collection of some of world’s most renowned vineyards, where nuances of vintages is given added attention.

New this year is a section featuring the local wines from the Delmarva Peninsula. This is an exciting area that Horizons Oceanfront Restaurant is looking forward to expanding.
