Lewis

BETHESDA
– On June 13, 2010, in Bethesda, Md., Sharon Lewis, 63, died surrounded by her
family.

She was
treated for leukemia in 2006 and pursued her life vigorously despite its
recurrence in 2009. Born in Washington, D.C., she graduated from Montgomery
Blair High School in 1965. For 20 years, she worked at the Saks Fifth Avenue
department store located in Chevy Chase, Md.

She was
a founding congregant of Temple Bat Yam in Berlin, Maryland, where she read for
her Bat-Mitzvah in 2005. She loved dogs, especially her dog Matza.

She was
the beloved daughter of Robert and the late Shirley Lewis and granddaughter of
the late Harry and Gertrude Lewis. She was the devoted and loving wife of the
late Jesse Caden. She leaves behind her dear friend and former husband, David
Jennis; her grandchildren, Marc and Stephanie Caden; great-grandchildren,
Andrew and Bonnie Caden; and many cousins and friends who all loved her dearly.

Services

John
Bounds Tilghman

OCEAN
CITY – John Tilghman, 82, of Ocean City, died Friday, June 11, 2010 at Atlantic
General Hospital.

Tilghman
was born in Salisbury on April 5, 1928. He was the third son of William and
Irma Tilghman. His two brothers, Thomas and Edward, preceded him in death. He
was a very active member of Atlantic United Methodist Church and involved in
many community activities and politics.

Prior
to his death, Tilghman had arranged to donate his body to the State Anatomy
Board to advance medical study. A memorial service will be held on June 27, at
2 p.m. at the Atlantic United Methodist Church in Ocean City.

Theodore
Wendell Gray

SNOW
HILL – Theodore "Ted" Wendell Gray, 77, died Wednesday, June
16, 2010 at his home in Snow Hill.

Born in
Elliotts Island, Md., he was the son of the late Lawrence Wendell Gray and
Violet Paulos Gray. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ethel Palmer Gray.
Gray had worked for 25 years at Harges Exxon Service Center, Joe Killmon Citgo
and C.B.Cody Citgo. He had also worked for the Worcester County Roads
Department retiring in 1998. He attended the Church of Christ in Snow Hill.
Along with his wife, he is survived by a son, Theodore W. Gray, Jr. and his
wife Lynda of Snow Hill; a daughter, Ellen Foxwell of Girdletree; three
grandchildren, David Gray, Eddie Tyndall and Lynn Tyndall; five great
grandchildren, Ashley King, Andrew Tyndall, Cameron Blake, Curtis Blake and
Ciara Blake; a brother, John Lee Gray of Cambridge; a sister, Mary Ellen Waller
and her husband Waner of Laurel, Del.; and several nieces and nephews. He was
preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence Wendell Gray, Jr., and two sisters, Mildred
Sheats and Idelia Staker.
Services were held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Coastal

Jennie
Sheeler Taylor

SNOW
HILL – Jennie Sheeler Taylor, age 90, died Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at
Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.

Born in
Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late William and Katie Good Sheeler.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Reginald Taylor.
Taylor had worked in food service with the school system. She was a member of
Snow Hill Mennonite Church. She enjoyed playing cards, Dominoes, canning and
homemaking. She was a dedicated caregiver to many.
She is survived by a son, John S. Taylor and his wife Joyce; a step son,
Franklin Taylor; a brother, James Sheeler and his wife Ruth; three
grandchildren, John Taylor, Jr. and his wife Crystal, Jamie Taylor East and her
husband Chris and Jenna Elliott and her husband Justin; one great grandchild,
Landon Taylor; and many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Sheeler and four sisters, Anna
Rohr, Katherine Green, Miriam Otes and Lois Mack.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 11 a.m.
at Snow Hill Mennonite Church. Pastor James Kurtz will officiate. Friends may
call one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Bates Cemetery.

In lieu
of flowers, donations may be made to Snow Hill Mennonite Church, 5927 Worcester
Hwy., Snow Hill, Md. 21863.

are being handled by the Burbage Funeral Home in Snow Hill.
