Hospital Launches New Campaign

SALISBURY – Peninsula Regional Medical Center has launched a new “We’re Listening” campaign aimed at informing patients about the importance of completing patient satisfaction surveys concerning their stay at the Medical Center.

“These satisfaction surveys are extremely valuable to Peninsula Regional Medical Center because it provides us a first person review of the care a patient received and their assessment of the overall experience,” said Tim Feist, Vice President of Performance Improvement. “The information undergoes detailed analysis to identify improvement opportunities, and to highlight those areas in which our patients tell us we excel. We use this feedback to continually improve our processes in order to best meet patient needs.”

Patients and family members will notice additional signage around the Medical Center and at Peninsula Regional Medical Group offices regarding the “We’re Listening” campaign. The campaign message reminds patients to complete and return their patient satisfaction survey if randomly selected to receive one by our consulting firm NRC Picker, a national research firm that specializes in conducting health care surveys. Not all patients will receive a survey, but every patient and family member is encouraged to express their opinions at “We’re Listening” suggestion boxes placed at key locations throughout the Medical Center. They may also visit Peninsula Regional’s website at www.peninsula.org and through the “Contact Us” section send an e-mail message directly to the Patient Satisfaction office.

“We’re Listening” is one component of Peninsula Regional Medical Center’s new 8 Dimensions of Patient-Centered Care initiative to better understand the patient experience and quality of care issues as seen through the eyes of the patient.

“We, like NRC Picker, believe that all patients deserve high-quality health care and their views and experiences are integral to successful improvement efforts,” added Feist. “Through this process and using the satisfaction surveys, we’ll know what matters most to our patients, which is ultimately what matters most to us.”
