BIS and BAA partner with Worcester County 4-H

The Berlin Intermediate School and Beyond Afterschool Academies have partnered with Worcester County 4-H to offer an environmental experience. Students are learning about wetlands and buffers, groundwater and aquifers, the shrinking deer population and will simulate an oil spill. Above, students created their own edible aquifers out of sweet treats and ice cream with the help of advisors Jeanne Davis and Betsy Apple, to understand how water (and pollution) penetrate the ground.
