Business Adds New System

OCEAN CITY – Ocean City will have a brand new laser tag attraction this summer with the addition of Lasertron to Planet Maze on 33rd Street

The new Laser Tag system brings the newest extreme technology to the game. Laser Tag is a competitive game where players tag each other with light beams to score points. The game is played indoors in an arena filled with fog, barriers, black lights and sound effects. Teens and adults enjoy Lasertron and it can be used for team building, corporate ice breakers, youth groups, sports clubs, parties, family reunions and more. The new system features changeable modes called “C.H.I.P.S.” (Competitive Human Interactive Player Software) to keep the action new and exciting. It allows the game to be played in 12 different modes including: stealth, super rapid fire, force field, virus and deflector mode accelerating the experience.

Owners Jamie Albright and Rina Thaler are excited to bring this new attraction to Ocean City for both the visitors and the locals, as it offers a different twist to the amusement market.

“When we opened Planet Maze 15 years ago, we introduced Laser Tag to Ocean City; now with this new game of Lasertron we are taking it to the next level,” Thaler said. “Everyone in town knows how important it is to attract people to Ocean City, we feel it is equally important to give them something new and fresh to do when they get here.”

Albright added, “Not only is the equipment changing, we have gutted and redone the playing arena. This is fast action, intense play and fierce competition that the Delmarva Peninsula has never seen.”

The new arena features glowing archways, a real time scoreboard, and a new airlock chamber. Lasertron is scheduled to open April 17 and a grand opening celebration is being scheduled for May. Membership cards will be available for the “players club” and leagues will start in the fall.
