BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s varsity softball team continued its early season winning ways last Friday, beating Wicomico, 3-1, to remain unbeaten thus far.

The Seahawks beat Bennett, 9-1, in the season opener on the road last Tuesday before returning home against another Bayside Conference rival Wicomico last Thursday. Again, Decatur’s Maddie Justice was dominant on the mound, scattering four hits and allowing just one run while striking out 14. Thus far, Justice has allowed just two runs in two starts as the Seahawks improved to 2-0 on the young season.

Kylie Nottingham sparked the Decatur offense with a two-run homer, while Abby Schoor had a double and a triple and drove in a run. The Seahawks’ game against Pocomoke on Tuesday was rained out. Decatur played Mardela yesterday in a game played too late to be included in this edition. The Seahawks face Washington and Snow Hill on the road next week.
