OC Basketball Action Continues

OCEAN CITY- The Ocean City Recreation and Parks Department’s winter boys’ basketball league continued this week with a full slate of games at Northside Park. The following is a quick look at some of this week’s league action:

(bullet) Phillips Crab House 43- Outback 20: Justin Meekins scored 19 points and Matthew Lecompte added 14 as Phillips cruised past Outback. Travis Carpenter scored 13 points for Outback in the losing cause.

(bullet) Ocean City Lions Club 32- Lighthouse Sound 18: Joshua Mercer led the Lions with 15 points, while Ian Crowther added seven.

(bullet) OC Rec Boosters 48- McDonalds 36: The Boosters got balanced offense with Justin Shanahan scoring 12 points, Breon Smith scoring 11 and Josh Strawley adding 10. Grady Anderson led McDonalds with 13 points, while Steve Tropkoff added 10.

(bullet) Fresco’s 30- La Hacienda 28: In a close game, Tyree Henry led Fresco’s with 10 points. La Ha got all of its points from two players, Garrett Tinus and Torrey Brittingham, who each scored 14 points in the loss.

(bullet) OC Parrothead Club 41- OC Rec Boosters 29: Delonte Tate led the Parrotheads with 21 points. Zachary Truitt led the Boosters in defeat with 10 points.

(bullet) OC/Berlin Optimists 33- American Legion 30: Connor May led the Optimists with 16 points, while Charlie Pritchard added eight and Zach Gelof pitched in six. The Legion’s Elio Telo led all scorers with 20 points.

(bullet) OC FOP 34- OC Elks 26: Jake Buchler led the FOP with 11 points while Nicholas Izzo pitched in eight. Bobby Wilgus scored eight for the Elks in defeat.

(bullet) Mona Vie 47- Little House of Pancakes 46: In a barn burner, Talib Rice scored 17 points and Montez Purnell added 11 to lead Mona Vie by just one point. Ryan Nally led Little House of Pancakes with 14 points, while Avery McCormick added nine.

(bullet) OC Rec Boosters 52- AGH 21: Chase Sams scored 16 points, while Coryn Gaynor added 12 and Chase Eslin pitched in 10 to lead the Boosters over AGH. Matthew Evans led AGH with 15 of his team’s 21 points.
