John Robert Frey, Sr.

OCEAN CITY – John Robert Frey, Sr., age 57, died on Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009 at his home in Ocean City.

Born in York, Pa., he was the son of the late Allen Frey and Gertrude Elizabeth Morhlein Frey.

 Frey had worked as a Steward at a Private Club in York, Pa. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #654 in Salisbury.

He is survived by his wife, Connie Lehigh Frey; two sons, John R. Frey, II and his wife Sharon and Allen Frey and his wife Amy; two daughters, Michelle Ambrose and her husband Norm and Milissa Geesey and her husband Bruce, all of York, Pa.; three brothers, Allen Frey of South Carolina, James Frey of York, Pa. and Michael Frey of York, Pa.; two sisters, Carol Walker and Jean Knisley, both of York, Pa.; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Tom Frey and William Frey.

A private memorial service was held in Pennsylvania. Arrangements were handled by the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin.

Joan Tecott

OCEAN PINES – Joan Tecott, 74, of Ocean Pines, died Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury.

Tecott was born June 6, 1935 in Newark, N.J., to the late David and Yetta (Tractenberg) Lesnik.

Tecott loved to play bridge and was in numerous bridge clubs and democratic women and book clubs in Ocean Pines.

She is survived by a daughter, Karen L. Tecott of West Orange, N.J.; son, Laurence Tecott of San Francisco, Calif.; sister, Phyllis Steinberg and her husband, Herbert of Ocean Pines; granddaughters, Hannah and Rachel Tecott of San Francisco, Calif.; and two nephews, Michael Steinberg of Los Angeles, Calif. and Jeffrey Steinberg of Ellison Bay,Wis.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Tecott.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Geraldine Carolyn Schissler Colliflower

BERLIN – Geraldine Carolyn Schissler Colliflower, "Mom Mom Ger", died peacefully at the home of her daughter on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009.

Born on Sept. 19, 1941 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late William Lawrence and Anna Marie Seidlich Schissler. She is survived by her brother, Lawrence Schissler; sister, Sue Bowen; her five children, Robert Lee, Marie Allison, James Edward, Joanne Leslie Webster and Beth Ellen Peace; many grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and countless others who, by knowing her, were a part of her family.

A flowery list of accomplishments would be unbecoming to her and an insult to those who knew and loved her. She lived a full and eventful life, finishing out her years resting in the finished work of the Cross upon which her Lord and Saviour redeemed her.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate the life of this extraordinary woman at a private memorial to be held.

Michelle Iler Mumford

FRUITLAND – Michelle Iler Mumford, age 48, died on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009 at her home in Fruitland.

Born in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late Glen Mumford and Betsy Beauchamp Fears.

Mumford was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church is Berlin and a member of Go Getters in Salisbury.

She is survived by an uncle and several cousins.

A graveside service will be held at a later date at the St. Paul’s Churchyard in Berlin. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Go Getters, 716 North Division St., Salisbury, Md. 21801. Arrangements are being handled by the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin.

James Anthony Esposito, Jr.

WAYNESBORO, Pa. — James Anthony Esposito, Jr., 39, died on Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009 in Waynesboro, Pa. Hospital. His death was unexpected.

Born Sept. 9, 1970 in Fort Rucker, Ala., he was the son of James A. Esposito of Chicago, Ill. and Annie (Maddox) Esposito, of Opp, Ala. He spent the prime years of his life in Ocean City.

Esposito attended Alabama and Maryland schools and later received his G.E.D.
He and his wife, Jennifer (Gomez) Esposito, were married on May 20, 2006 in Hagerstown.

 Esposito was employed as an auto salesman for Fair Oaks Dodge, Fairfax, Va. until, for health reasons, he left his position in September, 2005.

He enjoyed fishing, was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and an excellent cook.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by his daughter, Chloe Henderson, of Winchester, Va.; sister: Deborah Eul, of Salisbury; and two brothers, Mark Fitzgerald, of Elba, Ala. and Robert Fitzgerald, of Alvin, Texas.

Services will be held at 1 p.m., on Monday, Jan. 4, 2010 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, with Father John B. Bateman, Jr., officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery in Hagerstown. Family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
