Charles Bruce Hall

SELBYVILLE – Charles Bruce Hall, 74, of Selbyville, died peacefully Friday, Nov. 27, 2009.

Born on Oct. 7, 1935, in Whaleyville, he was a son of the late Charles Davis and Edna Banks Hall.

His survivors are his wife of 49 years, Sonya Whiteford Hall; a brother, Ronald C. Hall and wife, Dorothy, of Venice, Fla., and Snow Hill; three brothers-in-law, Theron O. Whiteford of Street, Md., Farrell D. Whiteford of Delta, Pa., and Gregory Scott Whiteford of Whiteford, Md.; a sister-in-law, Martha W. Reed of Carlsbad, N.M.; and five nephews and six nieces.

Hall was a 1953 graduate of the former Buckingham High School in Berlin. He earned an Associate of Arts degree from Goldey-Beacom School of Business in Wilmington and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

He joined the U.S. Army from 1953-56 and was a veteran of the Korean conflict. In 1962, he joined the U.S. Air Force, retiring from military service in 1979. He then worked for the Defense Intelligence Agency in Washington as a systems analyst, retiring from federal service in 1995.

He was a recipient of the Air Force Commendation Medal and the DIA Defense Meritorious Medal.

Hall enjoyed troubleshooting technical equipment problems and was an avid reader and motorcycle enthusiast.

Following cremation, services will be private.

Sophie M. Chomik

BERLIN – Sophie Margaret “Peggy” Chomik, age 85, died Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009 at Berlin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Allentown, Pa., and formerly of Emmaus, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Wasyl and Tatianna Skolinsky. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, John Chomik. She is survived by daughters, Mary Roseman and her husband James, of Allentown and Ann Rohrbach of Mohnton, Pa; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by two sisters, Mary Ann Nicholas of Kutztown, and Jane Skolinsky of Allentown. She was a homemaker and a member of the Community Church of Ocean Pines.

Memorial services will be private.

Anna Wade Seybert

WHALEYVILLE – Anna Wade Seybert, age 84, died Dec. 6, 2009 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center.

Born in Rockledge Pa., she was the daughter of the late Mike Wade and Anna Rienmenschneider Wade.

She was a homemaker and member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Berlin and Ocean City, and Willards Senior Center.

She is survived by daughters, JoAnn S. Burbage and her husband Ted, Danette S. Sifford and companion Michael Birch and Michele S. Messix and her late husband Randy; son George W. Busch; step-sons, Michael Sybert, Jr. and his wife Alice and Albert Seybert; eight grandchildren, Michael Messix and his companion Kim Jones, Tammy Boston and her husband Rodney, Kenneth W. Sifford Jr. and his companion Jessie, Christopher Stifford, Christina Tingle and her husband Michael, Michael Birch, David Birch, Debbie Burt and Courtney Seybert; five great-grandchildren, Samantha, Kenneth, Colbey, Kylie and Caleb; two step great-grandchildren, Haleigh and Hannah; two cousins; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph M. Seybert; two sons, Paul Wade and Wayne Seybert; and two brothers, Jack Wade and Bernard Wade.

Services were held at the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin. Friends may call one hour prior. Internment will follow services on Thursday at Sunset Memorial Park.

William G. Creelman Jr.

BERLIN – William G. “Bill” Creelman Jr., 51, of Pasadena, Md. and formerly of the Washington, DC area, Fenwick Island, Del. and Ocean City, died Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009 at Baltimore Washington Hospital Center in Glen Burnie.

He was born in Cheverly, Md. and was the son of Mary Louise Graziani Tate of Boca Raton, Fla. and the late William G. Creelman Sr..

He had been an engineer with Best Western in Washington, DC. 

Besides his mother, he is survived by two brothers, Gary Tate of Boynton Beach, Fla. and James Tate Jr. of Weston, Fla. and a sister, Kathe Crosariol of Selbyville, Del.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 11 at Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville with Father Richard Smith officiating. Friends may call an hour before the service. Burial will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Millsboro, Del.
